Members at LAUSD Vote To Accept Furlough Days

SEIU Local 99 members in Units B & C at the Los Angeles Unified School District voted to accept 8 furlough days for the 2010-11 school year. The furloughs are a difficult decision but they will prevent hundreds of layoffs and ensure students continue to receive services. We appreciate all of the members who cast their votes and made their voice heard to protect the jobs of fellow members.
The final vote tally is as follows:

Unit B
Yes = 239 votes
No = 69 votes

Unit C
Yes = 170 votes
No = 94 votes

In a separate vote, Bus Drivers at LAUSD voted to approve up to 5 additional furlough days in order to save full time jobs The final vote was:

Yes                  =  58
No                   =  19
